Being a landlocked country, Afghanistan has a right to access the sea. 80% or more trade is through Pakistan which due to the naïve attitude of Pakistan is hurting the most especially when Afghanistan is going through the worst humanitarian crisis in its history. The trade volume which used to be USD 2.7 billion before 2018 has come down to a mere USD 500 million due to these irregular and untimely blockades, high tariffs against the afghan products, and high transit fees as charged illegally by Pakistan.
